Imagine a bad Witcher game which is bad for the first 100hours, I've would have just lost 100 hours, who will say it is a good game eventually? I adore Rule of Rose for it's story, I didn't need to finish the game (still I beat the game) to say it's a mediocre game. I don't know what you like in a game, but if a RPG with a good story have tedious or shitty mechanics and sucks for 3/4 of the game, I don't see why I have to complete the game to see if the game improve, and even if it actually improve it's completely pointless. Have I to finish Tetris to the Shuttle to understand the mechanics behind the game? Fighting games? If I have to unlock every characters.maybe. Entire genres don't require to finish them to see if the game is good or not, ex GT or Fifa.
